도복과 띠의 의미

도복과 띠의 의미흰도복은 한민족의 자연동화사상을 의미태권도복은 태권도 수련만을 위해 존재하는 위한 일종의 제복(制服)으로 일상적으로 입는 자유복과는 달리 태권도의 근본철학과 수련목적이 의미하는 바에 따라 특정한 형태와 색채를 구비하고 있다. 따라서 도복과 띠의 색채는 지도자의 개인적 취향에 따라 선별하여 사용하는 것이 아니다. 도복과 띠에 대한 분명한 철학적, 색채학적 의미를 지닌 지식체계가 존재한다. There is certain knowledge system with color and philosophy.이수신편(理藪新編)에 따르면 태권도복과 띠의 색채는 음양오행사상에 따른 방위(方位), 계절(季節), 색(色)에 근거하여 각기 다른 의미를 지니고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 도복의 횐 색은 우리 겨레의 충절을 표현한 색채이며, 사심 없는 선비의 깨끗한 마음을 옮긴 청렴결백(淸廉 潔白)의 색채이고 공수래공수거(空手來空手去)의 사상과 일치하는 자연동화사상에서 비롯되었으며, 도복의 흰 색이 갖고 있는 정서는 신성, 고귀, 순결, 위엄, 평화, 승리나 완숙을 향한 출발을 상징한다(안용규, 2006). 더구나 도복이 의미하는 철학적 무예성은 도복을 청결히 간수하며, 심신을 갈고 닦는다는 도의(道衣)를 중시하는 것이다(이경명, 2000).According to "Isusinpyon", color of taekwondo dobok and belt implies different meaning each other based on directions, seasons and color according to the cosmic dual forces.White color of dobok represents patriotism, pure mind of scholars and assimilating with nature. 민족 정신과 도복또한 띠의 색채 역시 철학적 사상의 근본이 없는 주관적인 무분별한 색채를 사용해서는 안된다. 전통적으로 태권도 띠의 색채는 무급은 횐색, 8급∼7급은 노랑색, 6급∼4급은 파랑색, 3급∼1급은 빨강색, 초단 이상은 검정색 띠로 사용되어 왔다. 이상에서 알아본 바와 같이 우리가 일상적으로 입고 하는 태권도복과 띠 색체의 밑바탕에는 우리 민족 고유의 철학적이며, 색채학적 근본원리가 숨쉬고 있다. 승급하는 도장 수련생들에게 새로운 품띠를 매어줄때 마다 하나하나의 띠 색체가 의미하고 있는 이러한 근본 원리들을 설명해준다며 무감각하게 이루어지고 있는 승급의 의미와 가치에 대해 수련생과 학부모들이 큰 의미와 가치를 부여하게 될 것이며 다시 생각하게 하는 기회가 될 것이다.The national spirit and dobokReckless use of belt color without philosophic basis is also not acceptable.
